Q: Should a car newbie sticking with Genuine honda car parts or go for aftermarket parts?
I have an 2001 Honda Accord LX 4-cyl, and sooner or later I will be confronted to purchase car parts for my car. My question is should I stick with all genuine honda parts or go for the aftermarket parts? If so, what are the pros and cons of it?

A: pros = genuine honda parts, most come with a warranty
cons – super expensive, labor for them at the honda dealership even more expensive

you should be more specific on what parts you need, everything you need for your engine doesnt have to be a honda part..

Q: Honda Genuine Parts of Aftermarket?
I need to replace my distributor and my right front axle for my 1991 Honda Civic. Honda sells a distributor for $671, where I can get it aftermarket for around $430 (and some sites even show it for around $200). Honda will sell me the whole drive shaft for $330, where I can purchase just the axle for $95 from an aftermarket dealer. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

A: Personally I would go aftermarket if it is a trusted name. Dont go with cheap knockoffs.

Q: Does it matter whether or not you use genuine Honda brakes and batteries?
One of our Honda dealers told us that the brake noises we were hearing on my parents’ Honda Odyssey was due to the use of after-market brakes. We got the brakes done at our local Midas shop. We’ve taken our cars there for years, and they’ve always done a good job. Does it really matter if we use “Genuine Honda” parts for something as common as brakes? What about car batteries?

A: No, it shouldn’t matter. In some cases, I’ve had better results with aftermarket brake pads and batteries than the original.

Honda doesn’t make brake pads or batteries. They get them from outside suppliers. Its entirely possible they come from the same place Auto Zone, Midas, or NAPA gets them from.

Q: were can i buy some performace and other car parts for my honda civic?
okay i have a blue honda civic lx 4d sedan (everything is stock) i have tried to look for some Performance part but cant really find any, i dont think ima do an engine swap but i guess i might if i cant really find any thing

i dont really want to make that much HP only about 200 HP overall would be okay for me

A: The only way for you to get 200hp reliably is to do a engine swap. Your car has 102hp in stock for and is a d15b7 engine, not that much aftermarket support. If you have a 5 spd you could do a h22 swap for around 2500. Motors can be found at hondamotorsonline.com , tiger japanese, passwordjdm.com, jhot , and many other places. Go to honda-tech.com and research

Q: 1986 honda vfr 700f parts?
looking for (if possible) cheaper parts than genuine honda parts. looking for a chain an sprocket kit. dealer quoted me 490.00 for both, 285.00 was the chain along. all the web sites i’ve found go by application, an dont go back to 1986. just wondering if someone knows of a website that deals with older bikes. bike is in mint condition to leave parked for something so easily fixed, without breaking the bank.

A: no!you could defenity buy one aftermarket,they would be made in Taiwan rather then japan tho.they work just as good
as the genuine ones i replaced the complete exhaust system for the same car just before Christmas, from the manifold all the way back to the exhaust.just make sure you replace the gaskets with genuine ones and NOT aftermarket ones or it would leak emissions and would be very noisy, you might not
notice it at first but it will certainly happen.and don’t forget to apply gasket paste to two sides of the gasket.
brand new catalic converter with two gaskets alone cost me around $165 delivered .

I’ve Honda XL70, 1974 model. I Love this motorcycle, I purchased this, when I was Bachelor & young. Now I’m 50, Now my children use to ride it too. A: I have a 1970 model, engine parts are easy to come by as they still make them, however if your looking for trim, such as fenders, exaust pipes, side covers, ect, good luck, and I’m in the US, best bet, try Ebay.

It does what a wax job would do, all in a can. It does leave a protective layer. The polish will fill in scratches, take of grime, and dirt. What else do you have!?

Speed – what makes it faster to use your product
Effective – what makes your product more effective than other ways.

Focus on those 3 and you will make sales (if your product is superior). Ask more people to buy it.

If it is not superior make it superior by selling harder and more often.

I was told by the dealership that I need a new hub assembly due to an accident…Kragen/Orielly seems to be the only one who might have one in stock, but is the Beck Arnley brand. Never heard of it, but not a big car guy. How is this one compared to the Honda Genuine part or other parts.

A: For $90 I would go with honda OEM, They are guarantee’d to work well. Plus not really much differance in price. Plus last longer.

Q: Why does Axle seal keeps leaking on Acura RSX?
I’ve replaced the driver side axle seal once with a genuine Honda Part and a second time I tried an aftermarket part. And it both cases it still leaks from the axle seal!!

Anybody else ever come across this issue? could it be something else?

A: never heard of any axle seal ever leaking on an Acura/Honda…have you tried contacting Honda Corp and asking them ???
