Q: Do you see a lot of used honda cars in Honda dealerships’ parking lots?
I don’t and I wonder why?
A: I see more for sale by owners. I’m sure there are many reasons (car is stolen, illegal modifications, primer paint job, unpainted panels from accidents, high mileage, etc.) that keep hordes of them off of dealership lots. It is usually better to do a private sale, dealers won’t give you what its worth.
Another reason might be because those used Honda’s are out there on the road still being used. I know my Civic will never go to a dealer.

A: My husband and I own an automotive repair shop and we specialize in Honda and Acura. We go to local car auctions and find alot of good cars for cheap. You should look into the auctions in your area and you could find a good Honda.

I am getting a used Honda Fit Sport. Of these two used cars, which would you get:
1. 2007 Honda Fit Sport, 97k miles with PERFECT maintenance logs (proof provided) including regular oil changes at the dealer and transmission flushes. Price $8800.
2. 2008 Honda Fit Sport, 65k miles, no maintenance logs or proof of maintenance. Price $10900.
Which is it? Newer and more expensive with fewer miles but no maintenance proof, or older and cheaper with PERFECT maintenance.
A: I’d go with the 2007. A maintenance history gives you a known starting point, and the 30k difference in mileage is only about 10% of the car’s probably life (assuming you continue the maintenance), whilst saving about 20% purchase price. Maintenance during the first 10k is critical, solid maintenance for near 100k is fantastic!
Obviously @knightriding has no clue as to what a good car is!

Retractable sunroof . Bright red exterior with grey interior . VERY economical on petrol ….this car has all the original maintance record, my dad took very good care of this car and as i mentioned earlier , it runs like a new car . Minor dings associated with normal usage of car . MOT is good until November 21st 2007 . If you are looking for a very dependable car that you wont have to put any money into, then this car is it .
Q: Is it true USA (American) car dealers used/new will not sell Honda Cars to Canadian citizens? People tell me..
People tell me that this is the case so if you want a Honda out of the USA you have to buy private or at an Auction. Is this true or b.s. I specifically would like to know if this is the case in the MICHIGAN (detroit) area.
A: Read the two links posted below. The manufacturers try to block you, but apparently you can work around it because Canadian Customs is sympathetic to your plight. You might need to get a US friend of yours to buy the car and sell it to you.

I can’t find any information on which company makes the batteries used in hybrid vehicles.
A: Toyota manufactures their own batteries with technology purchased from Panasonic….. Honda batteries are supplied by Sanyo.

I have a 09 civic whose lease is up in January 2012. Instead of throwing another 5K away in a lease I rather give back my leased car and finance a certified used Honda. Will they let me do this?
A: Not without paying the early termination fees that come with all leases.
