Q: What years did the Honda Accords have bad transmission?
I am look for a honda accord with a v6. I heard the transmissions were absolutely horrible. Does anyone know what years the honda accords had bad transmissions and if it was just automatic or manual as well.

A: auto only from 98-02 v6. 4 cylinders are affected to a smaller degree. 03-05 v6 may have problems as well.

Q: Does the XM radio in the new Honda Accords display song title and artist?
I’m looking at Nissan Altimas and Honda Accords. I can’t seem to find an Accord to test drive (coupe, V-6). The Nissan Altima does not display song title or artist on it’s Sirius radio. Does the Accord display song info?

A: 08 Malibu does and the name of the radio station and artist and song that are playing.

Q: What computer do i need to ues for honda accords 95 vtec?
hey there. i need a lil help with my honda accords 95 f22b1 Vtec. i need to know computer type do i need to run Vtec and where can i find a diagram of the engine harness. also what harness is Vtec. i payed for the book to rebuild it .but it does have all the info i need. thank you for any help is need thank you …

A: try haynes on line.

Q: Do the rear side markers on honda accords light up?
Hello, I was just wondering if the rear sidemarkers on the honda accords light up, also do they blink when you turn on the indicator? Thanks!

A: depends on which year. the 94-97 light up but do not blink

Q: How is the 1997 Honda Accord Special Edition 4D different from the other accords?
I saw a ad for a 1997 Honda Accord Special Edition 4D. I was wondering what’s special about this car, how is it different from the regular 1997 accord.

A: All the SE is, is a lx with some ex options. and maybe some different cosmetics

Q: do many honda accords from the last 5 years have salvage titles?
im looking on craigslist at used honda accords, and it seems that many of them have salvage titles. are insurance companies quick to call an accord a total loss? if this is the case, would one be worth buying if everything was fixed? i know the price should be lower, but other than that, what do you think? any thoughts on hondas or salvage titles in general would be appreciated.

A: This has less to do with the fact that they are totaled out often and more to do with resale value. A body shop sees dollar signs when a “repairable” Accord comes in because they resale value of them is so high. They are much more likely to take the time to bandage a Honda than a Chevy Cobalt. In any case, stay away from salvage cars. There are so many used cars on the market right now, why get one that someone else has already wrecked?

Q: How reliable are Honda Accords and Civics made after 1999?
I am considering buying a pre-owned car, so I am leaning towards a Honda Accord or Civic. Preferrably one that is less then 10 years old with under 120k. My question is, how long do they last? I know they last alot long then my peice of (beep) Ford Taurus SES. Thanks!

A: Just go get one.

Q: What kinds of discounts does Honda offer on new 2008 Accords?
I’m graduating from college in a month and will be an active duty military member. I’m looking to buy a new car and hoping there are some discounts that may apply to my situation. I have my mind set on the 2008 Honda Accord LX. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

A: The only current Honda incentive is for a lease on the LX automatic; but a lease is not a good option for most consumers.

You can check Honda and other manufactuere’s current incentives at edmunds.com “incentives and rebates” section.

Q: What year of Honda Accords are the fastest?
What year of honda accord is the fastest and best to upgrade?

A: If you can get one, look into the Acura TSX. It’s actually just the Honda Accord Euro R in the states.

Q: Anyone have any feedback for me on Honda Accords?
Especially older models. I’m looking at a 1992 Honda Accord for my daughter’s first car. It has 170,000 miles on it but I’ve heard that Hondas are a good running car.

A: All i’ve ever owned were Accords. My first was a 1991 Ex model. I loved it. I never had any problems with it. The only things that were “issues” were there because the previous owner did not keep up with the maintenance like they should’ve. That was well over 100,000 miles.

My second Accord was a 2000 Accord EX with leather. That was also a great car, never had any problems…just changed the oil, rotated tires, regular maintenance.

Now I have a 2006 Accord EX with leather (coupe) and same thing, just regular maintenance…thank God, I’ve never had any problems.

Basically you just need to know how the previous owner cared for the car. There might be issues that you’re not aware of that will pop up unexpectedly and can be costly.

good luck!

Q: What do you think about the new honda accords for a girl?
im looking at the sedan. Im 19 years old a girl and want this car in black do you think its big and manly? Or do you think it would be nice? Its going to be my first brand new car
http://automobiles.honda.com/accord-sedan/
also dont u think civics are too tiny? they say student on them hahahah
do you think its manly? or is it just meee?

A: Accords are not girls cars or guys cars they are very nice thought so you should get it!

Q: Can anyone tell me if Honda Accords have a timing belt, or chain?
I am thinking more and more of buying a Honda Accord, but I’d really like a timing chain, over a belt(very bad experience with belts), I never want to face that night mare again.
I guess Honda owners, or mechanic could best answer this.
Thanks.

A: this is a trick question because older accords used timing belts 80’s – 2002. where as the newer 03+ 4 cylinder uses timing chain, but the newer V6 uses a belt.

Q: Do 2005 and up Honda Accords have built in MPG meter?
I was wondering if 2005 and up Honda Accords have built in MPG meter?

A: No.

Q: where can i find a listing of 1997to 2000 used honda accords in florida state?
1997 to 2000 used honda accords in the state of florida

A: Ebay
Autotrader
cars
&
Craiglist.com

Q: Are Honda Accords prone to busted windshields?
My mom is giving me her Honda Accord. She got it in late 2008 and has already replaced the windshield twice due to giant rocks hitting it and make big cracks. Well there is a big crack across the passenger’s side of the glass and she doesn’t want to change it again. We aren’t doing anything wrong but why is it always our car that gets the little nicks on the glass? Does it have something to do with the design of the front of the car and rock bounce off?

A: My experience is that things happen. It may not be the car but the quality of the glass that you have used or the routes that you travel. I had mine for 200k miles and did about 5 total.

Q: Can you buy an extended warranty on a used Honda Accord Hybrid?
I am thinking about buying an ‘05 used Accord Hybrid from an individual seller. It has 58,000 miles and seems to be in great condition.

My question is, can I buy an extended warranty through Honda that will help cover future expensive maintenance problems related to the electric motor, particularly the battery pack that I have heard is so expensive? I want to buy the car, but the maintenance costs terrify me.

Thanks!

A: if honda won’t sell you a warranty another fly by night company will, I think I would be a little afraid of buying that car, why is that guy selling it with gas prices so high?

Q: I am looking to buy used Honda Accord DX with 94 K mileage on it.Is it good deal?
I am looking to buy used Honda Accord DX Yr-96 with 94 K mileage on it.Is it good deal?Person who is selling says it’s first 9 yrs was maintained by dealer.I didn’t see this car in person yet but saw pictures and in it looks clean and nice conditon. He is asking for 3400 dollars.Should I proceed and buy this car or I am paying too much for this car?

A: Check KBB… for a car this old, with this many miles, better look at it first… it could have been under water in New Orleans for all you know!

Q: What year should I look for in a used Honda Accord?
I’m looking for a used Accord that’s at least a few years old (2006-ish), but I would like to know which year model had the best reviews, in terms of the least amount of reported problems, recalls, etc.

A: The 4 cylinder has plenty of power,

The LX trim is a great balance of cost vs amenities

Ask for maintenance records

you’ll probably need to replace the tires

Q: Where is the best place in the traingle area of north carolina to buy a used honda accord ?
I want a used honda accord in great shape but not so pricey

A: Go on the internet to Auto Trader.Com and follow the prompts…it will ask you the model, year and zip code you live in…..and show you what is available……tip to rememer – Japanese cars are very, very expensive to repair….aftermarket parts stores cannot get parts for most of those cars – they have to get them from the dealers at sky high prices….beware before you buy!!!!!!

Q: Used 1996 honda accord lx makes noise when started and while driving especially when gas pedal is accelerated?
1996 Honda accord has rattling noise when car is started?what could the issue be?
I’ve had my used HOnda Accord 1996 lx 129,000 mileage for 1 year and recently I’ve noticed when I start my car and while driving there is like a rattling noise especially when I step on the gas pedal..I don’t know what it could would like to know the possibility of what it could be please could it be a oil pan or a type of pan or something

A: I can think of three rather low cost possibilities.
Change your oil and use a heavier weight oil. You could be rather low on oil or you haven’t changed it for awhile.
It sounds like it could be pinging so first try to use premium fuel. If that works, you might either need a tune up or you car is in need of premium fuel.
One of your fanbelts is loose and either vibrates or scrapes against something when cold or during acceleration. You can check on this one if you open your hood, start your cold car and run out to see if the fanbelt is vibrating.
The other reasons get rather expensive so try these first before seeing a mechanic.

Q: What are the common problems in Used Honda Accord 2003-04?
Question for Honda experts. I’m looking for 2003-04 Honda Accord, I understand that there were some automatic transmission problems earlier. Are those problems only limited to V6 models or 4-cylinder are involved too? What are the early signs of tranny problems? Harsh shifting? What else? Which engine is more trouble-free, V6 or 4-cylinder?
Thank you for the answer.

A: There are two main problems with the earlier 7th generation (03-04) accord models. The first one is with the LCD display on the radio module going dark due to the faulty chip. Without the display it’s really hard to operate the controls such as audio operations, ac/heater etc.
The second one is with the automatic transmission on the V-6 models (only) due to the insufficient lubrication on the second gear.
But, honda has acknowledged this problems and extended its warranty to 100,000 miles or 7 yrs. So if you buy a car that has under 100,000 miles, the honda dealership will fix these problems for free. For the radio, they will replace the circuit board and for the transmission, they will install new lubrications kit. But if there is enough damage on the transmission already, they’ll tell you to replace the whole transmission. You might have to pay a part of it.
And as for your other questions, the signs of tranny problems is the slipping of gears which causes the engine to rev high. 4-cylinder is definitely problem free but if you want more power get the V-6 version and have honda dealership fix it for free or just go with 05’s

Q: Where is a reliable place to get a used Honda accord besides the Honda dealer for under $7,000?
please say if you have bought a used honda from the dealer you recommend.
the names of dealers would be helpful.

A: Personally I would take that money and buy a domestic and get a car with about half the miles and more equipment. Otherwise expect to get a high mileage car that will be a question when it comes to reliability. You will more than likely find you best deal through a private owner.

Q: question about used honda accord?
I’m planning to buy an used car, and i found a 1995 honda accord for $3600, 10k miles. But my dad heard a lot of people said that most accord will have oil leaks problem after 10k miles, is that true?
sorry… its 100k… thanks.

A: my friend has a 94 accord about 130k on the engine, has never had any oil leaks. the most recent problem was he blew the engine after it overheated but he didnt notice the fan wasnt turning because of a blown fuse but the car ran great from the day he bought it at honda in 94 to the day the engine blew. the accord is a really strong and reliable car. but just make sure you keep it tuned and always do the tune up when it is suppose to be done and you will be fine. i know of people running about 250k on their accord mostly 94-96 before they give out and these people really torture cars at the track. so i would go for it.

Q: How much can I sell my used Honda Accord wheels for?
I am trying to sell my original rims from my 2003 Accord EX V6. They’re 17″ X 7″. They have a little curb rash and one has a scratch in the powder coat.

here’s what they look like.

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/pts/281451391.html

Is $300 too little or too much?

A: you can ask 300 but there only worth what someones will to pay

Q: A friend is buying a used Honda Accord 2002 model;91K miles top of the line executive spec.?
My friend is looking to buy a Honda accord 2002 model; top of the line executive spec with in built sat nav, electric seats, alloy wheels and automatic transmission. it is a petrol engine and has done 91K miles. The price quoted is £2200. Is this a good price?can this be bargained? Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

A: whatever car he buys he should have it checked out by a mechanic well worth the money

Q: How much can I get a used 2008 honda accord?
I want to get a used 08 honda accord in november, and my dad said that he knows good auctions that sells slightly messed up cars for a cheaper price

(my dad got a 03 mercdes benz for only 12k

only thing that needed to be fixed was the oil)

so my dad knows what hes doing at these auctions

so how much do you guys think i can get a 08 honda accord? im only 16 and i paying for it myself…i dont want to spend no more than 11-12k

A: 2008? They just came out and unless someone is really hard up, I doubt there will be much inventory. With that in mind I would probably say close to the regular price that the owners paid for them. You could always check ebay motors, craigslist, or any other internet source though….good luck!!

Q: what website is the best to buy a used car, preferably a used honda accord car and what do i look out for?
what are the things to consider when it comes to buying a used car?
i live in london,U.K, and am looking to buy a cheap used car but a cheap used honda car is preferable.am also looking for the best car auction places in london.

A: 1) Your best bet is to follow the UK version of craigslist.org for a week or so. You’ll see a number of low priced cars come through the list. I’ll copy in one ad below. The URL is:

http://london.craigslist.org/

2) Here is another great source, but the cars will be somewhat more expensive:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/

3) And finally, there is this more routine source:

http://www.cargiant.co.uk/

__________

The ad from craigslist.org:

1990 Honda Civic Coupe 1.5 LEFT HAND DRIVE 16V Red 60K Original Miles – £799

LEFT HAND DRIVE 1990 Honda Civic . 60,000 ORIGINAL MILES .This car was given to me by my father, it has been family owned since brand new . Originally an Austrian registerd car, i drove it all the way to the U.K. but decided i did not need a car . It has 60K original miles . Drives like a new car . Excellent brakes, tires , interior . Sunroof , front wheel disk brakes .This is the 3-door hatchback style . 1493cc . The car has been lowerd and has the low profile alloy rims and tires . Brand new exhaust system . Retractable sunroof . Bright red exterior with grey interior . VERY economical on petrol ….this car has all the original maintance record, my dad took very good care of this car and as i mentioned earlier , it runs like a new car . Minor dings associated with normal usage of car . MOT is good until November 21st 2007 . If you are looking for a very dependable car that you wont have to put any money into, then this car is it .

Q: Pricing for a used 1994 honda accord motor?
I just recently bought a 94 honda accord for really cheap. The problem is that the motor is no good. I need help to figure out where i can find a new/used motor. And about how much its going to cost me for the motor and the labor. Any bit of help is much appreciated. Thank You

A: Do a internet search for local automotive recycling yards. Call them up and ask for the motor. If you don’t have any local then order it from the internet. Those motors only for for a few hundred dollars. Usually around 500 for a complete assembly.

Labor your looking at anywhere from 500-1000. Since its just the same engine into the same car then id say around 500 in labor.

Engine + labor = 1000-1500

Q: Im thinking of buying a used 1999 honda accord with 120k miles on it.Should i get it?
It had three past users and the car fax report turned out clean its from a used car dealership. It is $6500.

Model: 1999 Honda Accord EX Coupe

A: No. 99 was not a good year for the Automatic Accord. I would check into 2000-2001 Honda Civics with less mileage for about the same change.

A lot of problems happen around 120K. CV Joints start going, timing belt will snap if it hasn’t been replaced, brakes, etc.

Common sense will tell you that if a car has had 3 previous owners, the records aren’t all going to be there. Each owner had a different driving style and that also puts different wear and tear on each of the parts. pass.

Q: anyone have used honda accord stock wheels for sale?
i would like to buy used stock aluminum wheels that fits honda accord.
1994 honda accord LX

A: ebay

Q: 98 Honda Accord Transmission for SALE?
Hello,

Where can I buy 98 Honda Accord Transmission? Used or rebuilt? What if I trade mine in? Will the price go down? For about how much can I get one? I live in Charlotte, NC.

Thanks!

A: Personally, I stay away from junk yard transmissions mainly because for all you know they could be in the same shape yours is in, and even if there is a warranty it’s just more of a hassle to to get ANOTHER one put in after you already replaced it once. Check on eBay, I found one for my 92 Mitsu rebuilt for a decent price. Just make sure you give them your VIN number though, no matter where you go. There could be 3 different types of transmissions offered (different gearing and bolt patterns for different motors).

And yes, you transmission you have now would be considered a core, if you dont return yours then they will charge you a core credit. Basically they’re paying you for your transmission so they can rebuild it and sell it again, just like the one you just bought from them! Or you could go to a transmission shop and have them rebuild the one you already have. You have a few options here. Hope this helps, good luck!!

A: you didn’t say if it was auto or standard but Ive looked on e bay auto for engines and transmissions before. If its a automatic your looking at 1200-1800 for a rebuilt and about half that for one out of a salvage yard.Good luck to you.

Q: Why does my Honda accord 04 exl shake or vibrate when using the AC?
I bought a used certified Honda accord 04 EX L automatic it has 62000 miles on it. before i bought it during the test drive it was shaking when the sales man used the AC so the next day he said they fixed it and i did another test drive and ac didnt make the car shake or vibrate so i bought it. any ways driving it 100miles later it does the same thing but not as bad its a noticeable shake/vibration so when i went to the dealer ship to pick up my extra keys i asked them about it and the guy(mechanic) said that it is normal for a honda accord with 62000 miles to have minor shake or vibration and told me to just buy gas from shell and he said they tighten up the ac pump or something to tone down the shaking/vibration. it still shakes should i go to another dealer and have them take a look at it im in los angeles. anyways i know that i have 30days from purchase for them to cover anything that is wrong with the car. any advice thank you for your time if this question has been answered before please link thank you verymuch

A: The dealer is pulling your leg about the type of gas causing the A/C rattle. You can not tighten the A/C pump, but you can tighten the slack in your drive belt. It sounds like the drive clutch on the compressor is going and causing the wobbling.

If the compressor is bad it will cost well over a $1,000 to fix. It was $800 to replace the compressor on a 1993 Dodge three years ago, and this is not with more expensive foreign parts.

By the way our 1999 Accord with over 112,000 miles does not have this problem with it’s A/C. I think the dealers lieing to you again. I would write a letter to Honda’s corporate office. Since it is certified the A/C should be replaced under warranty with Honda’s corporate help.

Q: 2007 Honda Accord Coupe Console Light color?
my parents just bought me a 2007 honda accord coupe from an auto sale place and not from a certified used from a honda dealer and I was wondering what is the color of the console lighting. My mom drives a 2003 honda accord SEDAN and the console lighting (the color of the buttons’ texts when you turn on the lights at night) is very light greenish. When I turn on the lights for my car, the button text color is orange. Is this stock or did the previous owner of the car modify the lighting? I’m sure there’s not much difference between the 2003 and 2007 other than a different design.

Did Honda make a different console lighting color for the coupe and sedan just for distinction purposes?

If this is modified, where can I take this to return it back to normal and if so; how much would it cost? Everything else on the car is stock for sure because I did my homework before getting the car. The only thing I’m not sure about is the lighting of the buttons at night. that’s all…

A: It’s stock. There is a difference in ambient light colors with the sedans and coupes.

Q: does the powerseat setup of 96 honda accordEX fit in 97honda accord LX .please help me cause my seat is stuck
my power seat wont move front and back.it does everything else.honda delar gave me unbeliveble price.i got a option of EX 96 accord power seat on sale from a guy.can i buy it and use it for 97 accord lx version. please help me cause i am 5 4 and its hard to drive with this problem.

A: it really should fit..im sure the honda didnt change much in that time as far as frame and seat size..if anything measure thedistance from all four screw points and see if they match up on the new seat or replacment seat, whichever. be sure to use the same screws and if the screws do not fit throught the holes use a metal file to increase room space, good luck!

Q: 1992 Honda Accord or 1993 Mazda Protege?
Which would you recommend for a used car choice? I’ve seen one Protege, and quite a few Accord’s for sale.

The Protege apparently only has 110,000 km on it. The Hondas’ mileages vary. The Protege is selling for $2700, and the Hondas are selling from $2500-$4000.

Which is the better car, for reliablity and a good engine? We want a car that will do us for the next couple of years. It will be mostly a commuter car, with a possible occasional longer highway trip.

A: The Honda Accord holds the title for most reliable car in the world. It is bigger and more powerful than the Mazda Protege.

The Mazda Protege is a compact car. It is the best handling compact car of its time and better than most new cars. Also very reliable. This is one of the most reliable cars Mazda makes. And gets 35-39mpg highway depending on the engine you get or trim level. DX or EX or LX.

Q: Looking for used Honda Civic will pay cash!!?
I live in San Jose, Ca and I am looking for a used Honda Civic or Prelude or Accord. Must be 2 door (coupe), with moonroof, all power windows, locks, air conditioning, cruise control, tinted windows, low miles, V6 engine would be nice, maybe white in color or red or silver, automatic would be nice too. Nothing older than 1998. I have $8,000.00 cash in hand! Please answer if you have knowledge of such a vehicle for sale.

A: Well try Yahoo Autos. They will have all sorts of cars that fit your need in your area. They show you pics of the interior, exterior etc. I hope this helps

Q: i need to find any used hondas in connecticut for sale or any type of car for sale?
i need a honda civic 1992 white or gold and i also need a honda accord 1993, honda civic dx 2 door coupe for sale in connecticut

A: No problemo, just head off to your closest Honda dealer and ask him about whatever car you want from the most recent to the ones that had witnessed World War 1. They’ve got everything.

Q: Why are used honda civics more expensive than used acura integras?
I’ve been looking at used cars online for sale. Same year, mileage, options.. yet the civics are about 1500 more than the integras.. I know for a fact that integras cost more when bought new and they are overall nicer than civics yet they are way less than the same civics. They’re both made by Honda and get similar gas mileage.. why would it be so much cheaper? I also checked the book values and its the same in terms of cost difference.. the civics are worth more according to the book too.. same year.. same trim.. everything.

A: Demand. Not everyone realizes that Acuras are made by Honda. People pay for the Honda name because they know it’s synonymous with high quality and long lasting engines.

Q: Honda Civic or Accord? Thinking about trading in my trailblazer…?
Hi, I have a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer LT. I love this SUV, but am thinking about trading it in.

- Live in So Cal
- 26/F – no family & dont really drive people around

- The accord looks better, but the civic seems to have way better gas mileage (according to what i read).

I have a great job & can afford my trailblazer, but with all my other monthly bills (rent, student loans, timeshare, high gas prices etc) Im really not saving much. Its usually just another adult with me if im driving, but most of the time its just me. Im going to buy used and everyone that I know that has either a civic or accord LOVE them.

I cant decide between the trade off (this is my summary from the inventory of local cars for sale):

- Accord: nicer looking with leather, but more miles & less mpg
- Civic: no leather, less miles & more mpg

Any input will be greatly appreciated!

A: It’s all going to boil down to your needs and preferences and where your priorities are.

If your priority is to save on cost of fuel, service/maintenance, and insurance, the Civic is a better deal. You don’t carry more than one passenger so you probably don’t really need the extra room in the back seat that an Accord will provide.

If your priority is more room, smoother ride/acceleration, comfort/convieniece, a plusher interior, I’d lean towards the Accord. If you drive long distances it will be more comfortable.

Either car is pretty reliable and will have lower running costs than a Trail Blazer.

Q: $4000 yr 2000 Honda Accord. Do you think this is possible/believable?
I got this reply when i emailed the individual seller about this custom made 2000 Honda Accord with 15,000 miles.

The car is still for sale and is currently located in the shipping company warehouse from Chicago, IL. I posted the car for sale all over US(nation-wide add), so maybe you see it on other location, this is a full package from the selling website for more exposure… The price is $4,000.00 the title is clean and ready to be registered under your name, i have the car from my former husband as he lost it in the divorce trial and i have no use of it as it is a fast sport car and i want a smaller convertible, it will be a great experience for you, guess my husbands loss your gain, the only thing is that i want to have a quietly vacation after this divorce and i want to avoid headackes and complications, so i want to involve eBay Motors to participate in this transaction and supervise the payment and shipping it through DAS. In this way i have someone do everything for me and things are simpler, shipping it would not be a problem i will take care of it through DAS Express Shipping because i have some advantages and it would cost me very little, plus i want to take care of handling and insurance myself to make sure everything goes smooth and the car reaches you in the exact condition i am sending it and that is IMPECABLE and shpping taxes will not be added extra to the original price so $4000.00 will be everything you pay to have it delivered to your door. If we use the eBay VPP services you also have an inspection period prior buying the car. In this way you will have the chance to inspect the car before pay me, and I will be comfortable when I’ll ship you the car. Let me know if you want to move forward, in order to open the transaction with ebay
I will need your shipping address in the following format:
Receiver Name-
Street Address-
City, State, Zip Code,
to forward it to the authorized personell from eBay to start the transaction so you can buy the car from me. If you want photos or more infos about the car just ask me and I will be glad to provide you.

Does this seem like a scam or something? Are there any ways that this seller can steal money or rip me off?
Thank you people so much. Im glad to have fully confirmed my doubts.
definitely a scam. i got an email back saying that i go can’t see the car until 4 weeks later, and by then it’d be already sold. Obviously a scam.

A: IF its actually thru eBay you’ll find the car listed on the eBay motors site
if it is? check their feedback and only use paypal for your payment

but I feel this is worded ( spelled ) oddly like as if the person is in a foreign country and ready to scam you

Q: Should I sell or keep my 04 Honda Accord?
About a year ago, I bought a 04 Honda Accord? I was planning on keeping it (forever) but there is a good possibility that I’ll be relocated across the country to Seattle. I knew when I bought the car, that I over paid for it. (Salesman got me into a 6 yr loan) I’m not having trouble paying for it, it just that I’ll be in Seattle where, they use public transportation more. I don’t want to waste my money, having it sit in a parking lot. I looked and I’m upside down in the loan. I owe about $18K and on KBB (private sale) its worth $12k. I am thinking about selling it and just getting a loan to pay off the difference. Or I was thinking of letting it sit (while in Seattle), and collect some equity on the car.. plus i won’t be driving it as much, so it shouldn’t depreciate as much as it did while I am here… putting 25k miles a year. Then in a year, sell it. I can also, save by suspending the insurance since I won’t be driving it. (my sister’s an insurance agent) Any other ideas?

A: you have about the best idea on what to do with it right now,if you sell it you,ll probably loose money on it and if you can keep it i would, you will eventually need a car at some point in time, and by keeping this one at least you wont have to buy one,and im sure this one probably gets good gas mileage so it might pay to keep it,i wouldn’t want to loose money on something if i didn’t have to,you have the right idea of what to do with it,id stay with that idea it will keep you from loosing money on it,and it will sell good if you do decide to sell it later on,good luck with what ever you decide to do on it.

Q: Auto dealer says to purchase new 2006 car over used 2002-03-04 SUV type vehicle ?
I would like to know, if have 16,000 dollards CDN coming from bank at 3 % int.
The auto dealer want to have use buy a 2006 hyndai-models car (w/warranty, he expesses so much), we could trade it in later for better value after we are done paying it

I wanted to shoot for a 2001 ford escape at 10,000 CND, purchase warranty extra 2000$. i though everybody wants SUV fro re-sale value, but auto dealer says it will break, transmission or something, because it;s old 2001 ?? he want use to start with like car, basic one cavalier, and not get the ferrari so to speak ??

what should i pay attention ? warranty ?, trade-in value ? new year ? old year w/warranty?

My girlfriend uses the 1992 honda accord, i was thinking sell for 1000 cnd, we wanted santa fee, but it was 16,000 cnd for a 2003 year ?? too much, turned it down ?

what do i do guys ? what’s important ?

A: The warranty that comes with a new car is good, but a hyundai will lose it’s value faster than the ford.
As far as I know the Ford truck engines, like the one in the escape are fairly solid if maintained.
The dealer will keep pushing the new car, because he’ll get kick backs from the factory (more money) where as he’ll only make a straight profit on a used car.

If you want a used SUV then buy one, don’t let the dealer push you into a car you don’t want.

Q: Price for a 1991 Honda Accord?
I would like to buy this used car. It needs a new windshield as a big rock went through it.The car’s in good shape, good running condition, but has 150,000 miles on the transmission. The owner is asking $2000 or best offer.I’d like to make an offer on it but I don’t know what to offer, as I don’t know what they’ll accept. The cars been for sale for over a month and they’ve only had a couple people look at it and that was over a month ago. What should I offer as I don’t have $2000 to spend.

A: Go to kelly blue book, or edmunds.com to get the cars true market value. Also they should deduct the cost to replace that windsheild from their asking price

Q: i need to find a 98 honda accord for sale with a blown engine. mine was rolled but the powertrain is fine.?
or if someone wants to buy my accord with a rolled body but still runs perfect. less than 40,000 miles.

Q: 1987 Honda Accord For Sale $300.00 (OBO)?
I have a 87 Honda Accord for sale…It’s 5 speed…..The only thing wrong with it, is it needs a clutch and a battery….Needing extra Christmas money!!

A: What is the question?

Q: 1988 honda accord 4 sale?
I want to sell my 1988 honda accord because i just bought me a 2000 toyota celica and i’m not sure how much to sell it for. It has cold ac and many new parts. I don’t want to sell it for too much being its old and i don’t want to sell it for too little being that is a great little car. Any suggestions???

A: in all reality, go to kbb.com, then mark it up another 25%. seriously though. with todays gas prices, people will pay.

Q: 99 honda accord for sale at houston tx?
2 door

A: why its faulty

Q: How much can I sale a 1999 Honda Accord EX Coupe for?
The vehicle has 166,000 miles, the transmission is ruined and the power steering no longer works. Can I get at least $700 for this vehicle?

A: More like $200 at the crusher. But if someone is looking for parts you might get a bit more out of it. Stick an ad in the paper, for sale, 1999 Honda Accord EX Coupe, high mileage, issues mechanically. As is. Clear title. $700 OBO. See what offers you get.

Q: 98 Honda Accord Transmission for Sale?
Hello,

Q: Need to sale 2007 Honda Accord EXL….value help needed?
Hey Guys,
Just bought this 2007 Honda Accord EXL for $25k has only 2k miles and due to some financial problem I’m not going to be able to make payments so I want to sell it. Not sure how much I can sell it for, any advice tips will be greatful. Its Silver/Black intereior. I dont want that to reflect on my credit report as late payment/no payment/repos.

A: I WILL BUY IT FOR A SHINY PENNY !

Q: anyone have used honda accord stock wheels for sale?
i would like to buy used stock aluminum wheels that fits honda accord.
1994 honda accord LX

A: ebay

Q: Trying To Sell My Honda Accord?
I have a 1998 honda accord for sale ex woth 171,000 miles on it how much should i be asking for it please help

A: $800

Q: A honda civic accord is on sale for a good price but it overheats, is overheating fixable?

A: Over heating is fixable, but correcting the over heating can range from simply replacing a very inexpensive part to a major engine repair. You need to find out the cause of the problem before deciding if this car is really a bargain.

If you decide to purchase this car, and it is a private party sale be ABSOLUTELY certain to get a CLEAR title BEFORE money is exchanged. A CLEAR title is necessary in order for you to register the car. A CLEAR title mans the car is currently registered in the name of the person selling it, and there are no liens against the car.

Q: 1994 honda accord is $1100 but jumped time?
There is a 1994 honda accord for sale in my neighborhood. Its only 1100 but the owner says that it has “jumped time” and that he doesnt have time to fix it so thats why he’s selling it. I was wondering if I did buy this car, how much would I have to spend to fix this problem… BTW there is no other problem with the car other than this

A: More than likely the timing belt broke in it and if you have to have it fixed it could get expensive, I would pass on that car.

Q: 2003 Honda Accord Price?
There is a 2003 Honda Accord for sale but it’snot at a honda deler does that really make a difference the car is going for 11,998 with 79,606 miles on it please let me know if that is a good price the car is a V6 with leather nice color and insides please let me know thanks

put in all the details and info on the car and it will give you a trade in value and a selling value.

Q: Do you guys like the exterios of the new 08 honda accord sedan?
I am 17 years old and my parents bought me a new honda accord sedan. I had to think for several days to decide between the coupe or sedan. In my opinion the sedan is just so ugly, while the coupe looks really nice. After consider all my pros and cons, I decided to get the sedan because of the money. Geting the coupe would be much more expensive. Now that i got the sedan I was happy but i still think about the coupe. What would u have done and give me ur thoughts on the exterior of the sedan.

A: I think the new Accord sedans look awesome for what they are. They look a lot like the current 5 series BMW…in a good way.

The Accord coupes are also very nice looking cars (but are a little to big/long for a coupe IMO).

I would have made the same choice you did except that I like the look of the sedan slightly better than the coupe personally.

Q: should i go for a used bmw under 20000 or a new honda accord coupe?
hi im confused as to whether i should go for a new honda accord coupe or a used bmw less than 20000? i will be changing the car after 3-4 years. what would you suggest?

A: bmw

Q: Does anybody want to swap a brand new 2008 Honda Accord for a MINI Cooper?
I just bought a new Honda Accord (LX-P with alloy wheels and power driver’s seat) grey on black, and it only has 788 miles. I made an impulsive decision and realized that I don’t need all the space. I’m a HUGE fan of MINIs and I really want one. Does anybody have a nice MINI Cooper they would like to swap with my car?? Please?

A: Even though it may have been impulsive, you made a great choice.
Don’t open yourself up to trading for someone else’s problem.

In addition, unless you paid cash for the Accord, it isn’t as easy as swapping titles. If you financed the Accord, you don’t technically own it.

Q: Would you rather get a new Honda Accord or Mazada 6?
I am planning on getting a new(er) car soon. I really like the new model Honda Accords (08-Present) and the New Mazda 6 (09) . If you could choose either one, which one would it be and why?

I have no knowledge of cars. i always hear everyone rave about Honda’s but never really hear anything about mazda.

A: Mazdas are ok too, but my friend knows about cars and she doesnt like them. I heard that mazdas are a bit more expensive than the accord to maintain.

I’d personally get an accord because i like the interior better and the resale value is much better. The V6 accord’s fuel economy is better too

Q: Anyone have problems with XM Radio on the new Honda Accord EX-L V6.?
I own a brand new 2009 Honda Accord EX-L V6 and my XM Radio signal sputters out after constantly changing stations and searching. The info is still displayed but not sound. The only way for it to come back is to restart the car. I am planning on bringing my car back to the dealer to check out the connections etc. Is this a known flaw or defect or has anyone encountered this problem? If so, how did you fix it?

A: YES. I have a 2008 EX-L and have the exact same problem. I see from Googling the issue that we are no alone. I plan on calling the Honda dealing now to see what they have to say..

Q: What is the name of the song on the new Honda Accord ad?
I love the song (as well as the car) on the 2008 Honda Accord ads. Does anyone know the title or artist?

A: E.L.O – Hold On Tight.

Q: Can anybody tell me how much it would cost to replace the front bumper of a brand new Honda Accord ?
While reversing I dinged the corner of a Honda Accord front bumper. The bumper was cracked and there was no other damage to the lights or the hood. . Please let me know asap as I have to go to the dealership tomorrow and I don’t want to get ripped off. Many thanks.
I backed into a Honda Accord that was parked behind me. I told the owner of the Honda that I would pay to get the bumper replaced. I need to know how much this will set me back. The car was brand new. Thanks to all those who have answered and those who answer this question.

A: if your talking NZ dollars over a grand, easy!

Q: When and where should I take my new Honda Accord for an oil change?
I have a 2007 Accord with close to 6K miles on it. The dashboard computer is telling me the oil still has 30% of its life. Should I just change the oil, since I’ve driven 6K miles or listen to the odometer and wait. Also, is it worth getting the oil changed at the dealer?

A: I highly recommend you take your vehicle to a Honda dealership for your oil change. You should forge a relationship with your dealership because if you always take your vehicle there they will be more likely to find a problem before it becomes an issue. They get to know your vehicle and they keep all the records on their computer system. They will also call you when it’s time to bring it in for a maintenance check. In our dealership we find those customers who bring their vehicles in to us always have their small problems caught early because we get to know their vehicles.

I think you’ll find that they aren’t anymore expensive then some of the quickie lube type places. You should also know that if something were to happen during or because of having your vehicle serviced other than a dealership it could (and I’m only saying – could) void your warranty. Is it really worth the couple of dollars you may or may not save to take that chance?

As for the frequency of the oil change – though you may not have reached the recommended mileage it also depends on how long ago you in fact purchased the vehicle. If for instance you purchased your 2007 a year ago and even though you’ve only driven it 6km it is should be taken in for an oil change. So while I agree with the previous poster about waiting until “it” tells you to change your oil you should also consider the length of time since your last one.

Maintaining your Honda regularly not only keeps your warranty in good standing it also helps to retain “value”. It’s a well known fact that Honda’s tend to hold value very well and when your go to sell it you will find that having a service record at a dealership is an added feature prospective buyers are looking for.

Q: are the new 2010 honda accord coupes good first cars?
i am thinking of getting a new 2010 accord coupe as a first car. they range to about $25,000 full loaded. honda, so i have been told, is a very reliable car.. what is your opinion?

A: while the people below have a good point about not getting a new car for your first car, the honnda accord is a GREAT car. mostly all hondas are. they run great, drive smooth, dont have alot of issues, (& look pretty.) (:

Q: How does the body style of the new 2008 Honda Accord differ from the 2007?
Considering buying a 2007 Honda Accord but might reconsider if the new body style is different.

A: 1st of all, check honda’s website.

The 2008 accord is the 8th generation accord. It offers 3different engines. A 166hp 2.4l I4, a 200hp 2.4l I4, and a 268hp 3.5l v6. The sedans get better MPG than the coupe because of the VCM they’ve added. But take note theat the MPG will be lower for all because the new 2008 MPG calculations, everything will be lower.

The new accord is classified as a Large car by the EPA and is very spacious! IMO its a looker!! If you decide to go for it, i reccomend the EX or EX-l sedan. The EX models only recieve v6s this year but the EX I4 has 200hp!

Q: I am in the market for a new Honda Accord this fall.?
Other than the cash savings, is there any reason to go for a 2009 Honda Accord other than a 2008? Are there any new features that are coming out in 2009 that I may miss out on?
I realize dealers want to move their inventory (even more so that time of year) and I would have a nice price advantage in buying an 08 over an 09 otherwise.

A: Check out www.vehix.com I’m car shopping too, and let me tell you what, they give you vehicle showrooms where you can do a 360 of the interior AND they have all the crash test ratings and specifications.

Good car choice btw, the new accords are HAWT!

Q: What is causing a whistle sound in a brand new 2008 Honda Accord Sedan?
I just purchased today a new 2008 Honda Accord LXP Sedan with only 29 miles and I am noticing a whistle sound whenever accelerating or I push the gas pedal. I also notice the whistle sound whenever I turn the Steering wheels either right or left. Your help is greatly appreciated.

A: It’s new. Take it to the service department and have them fix whatever is wrong.
